‘.CRRPTD’ explores the life cycle of USB storage, specifically the gradual decline of the device’s performance until the point of total corruption. As USB drives are physical devices that are used to interact with a digital space, 3D scanning and printing were utilised, among other techniques, to run content through digital and physical processes. File corruption methods were also explored, such as Data Moshing and Data Bending. The video serves as an insight into how a USB drive degrades over its life cycle from the moment that the first file that is added to it.
